About the Opportunity

A small, independent, nonprofit thrift shop located in Roslindale Village is seeking a Part-Time Sales Associate whose personal values align with our mission of serving the community. This is more than a retail position, every purchase made in our store directly supports programs that improve the lives of children and families.

Schedule

Candidates must be available to work Monday through Saturday between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. This position is 3–4 days per week (18–28 hours) and includes working most Saturdays.

What We’re Looking For

Preference is given to career-oriented retail professionals with a proven track record in customer service. Successful candidates will have:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous retail and/or customer service experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • An eye for merchandising, organization, and visual displays
  • A flexible schedule
  • A positive, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
  • A desire to contribute to a mission-driven organization and build a long-term career with our team

Responsibilities 

  • Operate the cash register and process customer transactions
  • Provide outstanding customer service to shoppers and donors
  • Stock merchandise and create attractive product displays
  • Organize and maintain a clean, welcoming retail environment
  • Move donation boxes, clothing bins, and household goods throughout the facility
  • Assist with moving smaller furniture using a dolly to and from the sales floor and customer vehicles

Physical Requirements

This is an active, physically demanding position that requires standing for the duration of each shift. Team members regularly lift and move boxes of donated goods, transport clothing bins, and safely move smaller furniture items with a dolly.
